These 3 connected panels were created alongside Akron Public School Junior High students in collaboration with Stan Hywett Hall and Gardens as part of their “Influencers Camp” summer program. We all had a lot of fun on this one! The design was inspired by the beautiful gardens at Stan Hywett. I created the panels as giant coloring book pages and the students did all of the color work before I brought the pieces back to my studio for final cleanup and details. I absolutely love opportunities like this to interact with budding artists, make fun art, and encourage the next generation to be a force for positive change in our community
For this class at the Akron Art Museum, I directed a group in the creation of their own skateboards. Starting with blank skate decks, I created a handful of images for the students to pick from and we transferred the images to the boards. Students completed the designs with paint, markers and other materials of choice to make their own unique skateboards.
Created with participants of all ages at the Akron Art Museum as part of the Keith Haring “Against All Odds” exhibition in 2023. I built a portable wall and designed a paint by number style design that was completed in one evening by the participants. The design was a celebration and homage to Keith Haring whose work has been a huge influence on my love for and approach to making art.
This custom guitar was painted for Highland Square's annual Porchrokr event and was signed by Mike Mills of R.E.M.
All proceeds generated from the auction of this guitar were donated to the Highland Square Neighborhood Association.
